Rather, I think it more likely they put it up because they deal with a steady stream of troglodytes who refuse to wear a mask and put up a big stink when asked to comply.

They are ‘blaming it on the government’ but in an attempt to avoid potentially dangerous conflict for employees; not because they oppose masks.

You do make a good point re Marcus though. A good enough reason to avoid all HDs imo. F that guy.
