I still need to read the article above more thoroughly, but on 02/04, I missed a call on my cell phone from an (888)-number. When I Googled it, there was an 800Notes report and two RoboKiller reports that said it was the "National Breast Cancer Relief PAC."
I called that number tonight, and went from artificial intelligence "Courtney" to AI "Debbie in the records department." When I asked Debbie if they were a charity, she responded with something about being affiliated with the "American Coalition for Crisis Relief."
These faux charities and all their toll-free numbers have drawn the attention (and the displeasure) of some folks on a scambaiting forum that I read from time to time.
I'm hoping my state AG might take a look at them, too.
